An early morning photo of Abrams Mountain and Ouray taken during my trip there last week. The next morning I slept in and unfortunately a friend informed me that I had missed an incredible sunrise… d’oh! Such are the disappointments of a lazy photographer.
I’d say you are ANYTHING but lazy!!! Have you read Atlas Shrugged? I haven’t read it in about 40 years, but I just learned that Ouray was the setting for the mythical “Galt’s Gulch” from Atlas Shrugged.
This is fantastic…the light is incredible. There looks to be a little more snow now than there was in January at the Ice Festival.
Nice addition to the Ouray overlook series – I love the zig-zag lights from cars headed up the pass. Slept in on vacation? That’s odd 🙂
Thanks all! Justin – thanks… I’m not too thrilled with the light here, really, but the town lights are cool I guess!
Dave, this would sum it up:

Reminds me of the 4th of July fireworks in Ouray when all the Jeeps/vehicles come down the pass.
Beautiful picture. I have never been in the San Juans in the winter but I would love to see it covered in snow.
