For our last hike during our stay in Glacier National Park, we went up to Piegan Pass – a nice day hike from the Going to the Sun Road.
Once at the pass, we were greeted with an awesome view of the sheer walls of Mt. Gould.
After lounging around on the pass for a while, we decided to hike up to another pass that’s about 1,000 feet higher.
Epic views!

As usual, great photographs. Glacier N.P. is one of the finest Nat’l Parks I have visited. This year it’s my wife’s choice as to where we go this summer, and it will be Glacier N.P.. I have thought about hiking Cracker Lake in the past. After seeing your photos, it will also be our first overnight (maybe two) hike. We also plan to do Dawson Pass and Pitamakan Pass Loop (if you have not done this hike, do it). One last thought, if you like Cracker Lake, you should hike Tonguin Valley in Jasper N.P.. Look forward to see new photos.
That’s great you’re headed there next summer! Cracker Lake it so awesome; I wish we could have spent two nights there as I would have liked to have spent a day hiking higher up the basin. Unfortunately we timed out trip to GNP too early in July and most of the higher trails were still closed due to snow (or I should say the high campsites were all closed). Have fun!
