  1. Great post, Jack. I tell my students this every year: do what you love and everything else will fall into place.

    1. That’s a great lesson to teach! That’s been pretty much my experience in life, ever since I made the decision in college to switch my major from business to fine art printmaking. Everything works out. Of course Alan Watts states it much more eloquently than I ever could!

  2. So glad I opened up your blog. After viewing that video a couple times, well I realize I’m running out of excuses… Maybe it’s time to pull the trigger and start following my passion rather than society’s established rules of life.
    Thanks for the inspiration!

    1. You’re welcome! Yeah, I love listening to and reading Alan Watts. Life is short…

Btw, I enjoyed browsing your website; you’ve got some killer photos. I especially like that Cottonwood Lake sunrise/set refection…

      1. Thanks, I really appreciate it. It was all sunrise.
Life is short indeed. From what I’ve seen so far, something similar to your lifestyle is a good target for me to aim!
I enjoyed reading about your trip to Finland (among other posts). I’d love to do something like that in Iceland (top of the list). There’s a bunch of 4×5 film that I need learn how to use and to start shooting.
Do you still get most of your “keeper” shots from film or is digital replacing it more and more?
