Saguaro National Park
Our final destination for our desert road trip in late March was Saguaro National Park near Tucson, Arizona. We spent two nights at the campground near there and enjoyed visiting the "forests" of saguaro cacti (pronounced like "sa-waro"), as well as a bit of touring through the city of Tucson.
There were amazing sunsets every night we were there. On this first evening's sunset, I was totally stoked by the light show and was scrambling back and forth shooting different compositions. A hiker went by and I said something like "Awesome sunset, huh?!" She said, "You're not from around here, are you?" Apparently sunsets like this happen all the time here...
On a tangent topic, I was surprised and delighted by the excellent craft brews of Tucson! I've got to give a shout out in particular to Sentinel Peak Brewing Company's "Salida del Sol" Mexican style Amber. Holy moly that is delicious beer! Please export to Colorado! Or maybe I'll just have to come back for more.
