I’ve just posted some new landscape photos taken during the first half of our time in the Dolomites this summer, near Sexten and Cortina mainly around the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, an impressive cluster of vertical peaks that look like rock knives thrust up from inside the earth. Despite my best efforts, the rainy overcast weather during that week offered precious few photo opportunities. Nevertheless, I did manage to grab a couple nice photos before and after the storm! See the full updated trip report here.

Dusk light over the Dolomites as seen from the base of Tre Cime, far over the village of Misurina.
You know, sometimes I prefer the light like what you captured in “Tre Crime Dawn”…the subtle glow is almost magical. Great shots, Jack!
Thanks Justin, I agree… a lot of color then too, just blue rather than orange and pink! 😉
Jack how is Claudia ? Is she feeling better after the accident ? Wonderful images from Dolomites like I never seen before ! Hope you two are well and enjoying Fall colors 🙂
Thanks Rajeev! Claudia is getting better! She’s almost back to normal, but can’t wear a backpack or carry heavy stuff quite yet. I haven’t been getting out much to enjoy the fall colors this season, for whatever reason. Just glad to be home anyways though.
