A frosty May 23rd morning that looks more like February or March!

During most of May, storms from the southwest have been lining up back to back pushing moisture into Colorado. Though it’s been raining quite a bit in the valleys, all that moisture has fallen as snow in the mountains, where it has often felt more like February than May in the mountains! We’ve been enjoying some great powder lines during the last few weeks; see more ski photos below!

With relatively stable spring powder and great access via early-plowed summer dirt roads, we’ve been able to access and explore some new routes on seldom-skied mountains.

With all this late season snow and a completely dust-free snowpack this year, the skiing should be great well into June!

  1. Incredible images Jack and Claudia! Second, Third and the last are just awesome! Glad you guys are having fun! 🙂

  2. In wintertime it’s not difficult but right now my mind can’t compute what I’m feeling down here (90F) and you’re still doing up there! Fantastic shots Jack. I’ll take 3 and 6. Love the ridgeline behind Claudia, that persepective is big.
