And I wish you great Storms - that's the best time for photography there, it's not a joke! Once I've spent 5 days in the tent stucked by a really hard storm at the end of May - for only one hour the Light was stunning! The storm continued for a week, but at the 5-th day I was totally out of food and water, so I had to move anyway and packed my tent during the hard rain and the wind.

I'm not sure where you will find internet at the north island, me didn't touch a computer for 51 days, but that was a good rest, actually.

Take care!

Jack, 2 days ago I just came back home after 51 days trip around North Norway, including Lofoten and places up north... looks like for a short period of time we've been at the same place! :) Middle June was the worst time for landscape photography, because the midniht sun was too high even in its lowest point, but I went at the end of May to get still some snow on the mountains - it was cold and for the first 14 dayse it rained every day and there were storms stronger than a tornado... now it's fine and warm, I've ended the trip at 14th of July. The light will be awsome now, be sure!

Hiring a car could be a clever thing, but I did the whole trip by walking in the mountains and hitchhiking on the road, that's how I found many good places - by talking with the local drivers. I had 35 kg in my backpack, but thaw allowed me to stay at totally wild places with the reindeers for sometimes a week.. but for theks like these it's worth to start and end the hike at different sides of the mountain, that would be a bit hard when you're with a car.

You'll see great places and awsome people, I wish you a good Healt and good Light!
