Today it’s been raining in Ouray. I know crazy weather is common in Colorado, but RAIN IN JANUARY? That’s just wrong. The good news is that the latest avy observers are reporting that it is snowing up high, and the wet snow is bonding well to the old surface. I hope it gets colder soon.

It rained all afternoon here in Telluride, too. My son snowboarded today and said it was even raining on the mountain A LOT. This is crazy.
Has this ever happened before?
I think it happens most years, its just so shocking that we forget….
I returned early from a planned weekend of epic (not) skiing in the Wasatch where the UAC described the conditions as ‘poopy’.
