Thanks all for the comments!

Justin - I'm going to keep the E-620, but I think I will put the Oly 7-14mm lens on ebay, to try to recoup some of my money. Now that I have an ultra-wide lens for the Canon, the Oly wideangle is a bit redundant for me. But I will keep the 12-60mm for a super light hiking/snowboarding option, and the 70-300mm for tele-work that the Canon couldn't do without a huge expensive zoom.

Oh, those pictures are so beautiful. That area is probably my favorite in the whole world but I've only been there during summers. It is so exciting to see it this time of year through your lens. The sunrise is so peaceful and spectacular too. The tent shot makes me want to be there, no matter how windy.

Very nice!! Man, that is a REALLY nice sunrise. Good to hear you like the TS-E lenses. I love 'em. That new 24mm is supposed to be really good, too. (envious) Looks like a great trip.

Jack,

Wow, these shots are superb. I love the tent shot...you have mastered that subject, for sure. Well, I've been using my friend's 5D these last few days and I'm loving more and more its IQ capabilities. So, what will happen to your E-620 setup? Again, superb series.

Absolutely wonderful photos, Jack, nice work. Takes me back to my one and only hike up in there, but it was summer and lots of columbines. My brother went up there one July to climb and ended up in what he estimated to be near 100 mph winds. He took shelter in an old structure somewhere near Ice Lakes and thought the roof would blow off. He'll never forget that night. Ice Lakes Basin in a really special place, and you really captured the magic.
